The majestic mountains of beautiful British Columbia provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos. From rugged, glacier-carved peaks to iconic, volcano-forged summits – Whistler has the backdrop you’ve been dreaming of. Here, we share five of our favorite spots for your whistler wedding album.
Whistler & Blackcomb Peaks
Simply stunning in any season, the peaks of Whistler & Blackcomb mountains deliver stunning views. Thanks to Whistler Blackcomb’s awesome lift infrastructure, the peak is more accessible than you may think. Enjoy an intimate shoot as newlyweds or invite the whole wedding party for an unforgettable photo! Why not consider capturing some classic Whistler landmarks while you’re at it? The new Cloudraker Suspension bridge at Whistler Peak delivers a great shot. As do our famous inukshuks and the iconic Black Tusk.
The Fitzsimmons Creek Bridge
Nestled between Whistler Village and the Upper Village is Fitzsimmons Creek Bridge. Whether buried in snow or drenched in sunlight, the bridge provides a beautiful setting for your wedding photos. It’s charm is down to it’s traditional wooden structure and trusses, which span the picturesque creek. Thanks to the bridge’s roof, this makes a great option should the weather not agree. Shots on the bridge itself are beautiful, but consider taking position creek-side to be closer to nature.
The Nita Lake Docks
Take your wedding shoot lakeside in Whistler for spectacular views in any season. Nita Lake is home to two docks – the Municipality dock and the Nita Lake Lodge dock. Either makes a great option for your wedding photos. They provide the perfect stage for photos of the wedding party too, with plenty of room for a small group of people. In the winter months, Nita Lake freezes over and it may even be possible to take your wedding photos on the ice – Simply stunning!
The Sea to Sky Gondola & Suspension Bridge
A very popular option in the Corridor is the Sea to Sky Gondola & Suspension Bridge. It’s super accessible and only 50 minutes from Vancouver. It offers a number of really great wedding photo options including views of the mountains, the forest and the sound. The suspension bridge is a great option too and definitely adds that “wow” factor.
On The Slopes!
Inject a truck-load of fun into your wedding photos with some action shots on the slopes. For something a little different, you could even capture your first chair ride as newlyweds. We really love the action and spontaneity of a shoot on the slopes. Whether snowing or bluebird, the backdrop is incredible. It even makes a great option for those that may be a touch camera-shy too!
