A Guide to Restaurants in Whistler Creekside

September 13, 2017 by Nita Lake Lodge

Whistler is known for its many culinary delights both on and off the mountain, but there are also many unique restaurants in Whistler Creekside to explore. With so many dining options to experience in this little mountain town, one can be overwhelmed with what to choose.

Our Favourite Restaurants in Whistler Creekside

Escape the village and head south for five minutes on the Sea to Sky Highway to find yourself transported to a quiet corner of Whistler. Here you will find an array of dining options off the beaten track. From fine dining to BBQ, there is something to please every palate and every budget in Whistler’s Creekside. Follow along as we highlight our favourites.

Southside Diner

Price Guide: $
Cuisine: Classic Diner Food
Opening Hours: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday & Saturday and 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday to Thursday
View Menu

The Southside Diner has been a Whistler institution since 1994 after it took over in the same location as the Southside Deli, which had made roots in Creekside in the 1980’s. This is the spot for a greasy breakfast after a big night out. A locals’ favourite hangout with the relaxed vibe and simple, yet delicious food options, this diner will set you up for a big day of adventure in Whistler.

What to Order

Our suggestion is the B.E.L.T.C.H Sandwich which features bacon, egg, lettuce, cheese, ham served on your choice of bread with a side of home fries. Simple and classic.

Creekbread

Price Guide: $$
Cuisine: Pizza
Opening Hours: Open at 4 p.m. daily
View Menu

Creekbread is home to the best wood fired pizza in Whistler. Known for their organic vegetables and nitrate free meats, this is one of the restaurants in Whistler Creekside that will keep everyone happy. They make everything in house from sauces in a wood fired cauldron to dough made with organic flour. All the pizzas have a unique flavour from cooking in the wood fired oven, a focal point of the restaurant.

They also have delicious salads which are a great way to add a healthy balance to an evening of pizza. With a commitment to community, they also hold weekly charity nights that benefit local initiatives every Tuesday night.

What to Order

While you will have many decisions to make, we recommend the Pemberton Potato Pie which features thinly sliced, oven roasted Pemberton potatoes, organic rosemary cream sauce, roasted whole garlic cloves, organic baby spinach, whole milk mozzarella, fontina and asiago cheeses. This delicious pizza is made even better with the addition of nitrate-free apple wood smoked bacon, we highly recommend adding it on!

Cure Lounge & Patio

Price Guide: $$
Cuisine: Innovative share plates, craft cocktails
Opening Hours: 11.30 a.m. ’til late, daily
View Menu

From local vegetables, homemade preserves, cheeses and organic meats, Chef Dean works with honest, seasonal ingredients from small, local artisan farms to create flavorful, rustic dishes from scratch. Freshly redesigned, the new Cure Lounge & Patio is an open-concept space that perfectly captures the serenity of Nita Lake in a fresh, contemporary design, making you want to stay and order another cocktail.

Make sure to grab a seat on the patio to soak in the tranquil view of Nita Lake, but don’t worry about cool evenings, every seat comes with a cozy blanket and is never too far from a heat lamp. During the winter months, cozy up by the fireplace with some delicious share plates or indulge in a craft cocktail that are all hand made by the talented bar team.

What to Order

Try the organic beef burger. It’s stacked high with house-made onion rings served inside the bun! It’s also on special all day, every Wednesday! Make sure to add a side of truffle aioli with you fries, you can thank us later.

Dusty’s Bar & BBQ

Price Guide: $$
Cuisine: BBQ
Opening Hours: 12 p.m. – 1 a.m. daily
View Menu

A true piece of Whistler history, located at the base of Creekside Gondola, Dusty’s Bar & BBQ is a must visit après spot. Home to live music and more, this is one of the more casual restaurants in Whistler Creekside and it is the perfect place to go with a group in summer or winter. After skiing down the longest ski run in North America, Peak 2 Creek, you deserve to celebrate! This two-story bar and grill prides itself of delicious BBQ and even better Caesars.

What to Order

We recommend ordering a Voyager, which is two drinks in one, a classic Caesar with a bottle of Labatt Blue beer on the side. While you are there, you better fuel up for your next run with a pulled pork sandwich. It is served with home fries but, trust us, you will want to order an extra side of butt rub mayo. Skiing burns calories, right?!

Rimrock Café

Price Guide: $$$$
Cuisine: Fish and Game
Opening Hours: 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. daily
View Menu

The Rimrock Café has been a fine dining presence in Whistler since it opened in 1986. It remains the best place for fish and game in Whistler today with support from Chef/owner Rolf Gunther and Restaurant Manager, Bob Dawson. This is one of the restaurants in Whistler Creekside that you won’t want to miss. The elegantly rustic atmosphere in addition to high quality products and consistently exceptional service help to keep their dining room full, night after night.

What to Order

Fully experience the best that Rimrock has to offer with a fresh fish dish such as the half lobster, scallop and prawns. Pair your meal with a bottle of wine from their extensive wine list to make it a meal to remember.

Red Door Bistro

Price Guide: $$$$
Cuisine: French
Opening Hours: 5 p.m. daily
View Menu

One of the newer restaurants in Whistler Creekside, Red Door Bistro has quickly taken top spot among fine dining options. The passion of Chef RD Stewart shows, with over 20 years of experience as a chef in some of the best restaurants in Whistler, he brings French cuisine to the plate with a balance of the West Coast. This cozy hole in the wall has limited seating and is known to fill up in advance. Make sure to call ahead for a reservation.

What to Order

We recommend the West Coast Bouillabaisse, which highlights both the West Coast and French influence behind the Red Door. Featuring dungeness crab, prawns, mussels, scallops and fresh fish in a tomato, fennel and saffron broth, it’s served with piquillo pepper aioli and crostinis.
