We’re all about supporting local in Whistler, and a great way to showcase some of Whistler’s incredible makers and creators is with a Holiday gift guide. There’s mountains of talent right here in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, and pieces to suit every budget.
As we head into the festive season, we’re doing everything we can in terms of supporting local in Whistler – especially this year when our community needs our help more than ever. With that in mind, here are some of the local artists and crafters that we’re looking to for gifting ideas this holiday season:
AlpenGlow Prints
These incredible illustrations by Brendan Langley are perfection, and make a great, affordable gift for any home. The use of layers and soft, dreamy tones are what draw us to AlpenGlow Prints, and the fact that they’re all local spots makes them even more attractive! His full store may be found on Etsy, however a number of pieces are also for sale at Nita Lake Lodge.
Whistler Baskets
Give a gift basket this season and play your part in supporting local in Whistler! Gift baskets are a great way to spread festive cheer and Whistler Baskets hit the mark every time. They’re packed with BC produce such as Whistler Chocolate, Nonna Pia’s Balsamic Reductions, and Hardbite Potato Chips and there are 11 combinations to choose from. Prices start at $45 and you can add wine for $20!
The Botanical, Creekside
New kid on the block (for a limited time only), you can find The Botanical in Whistler Creekside Village, and they offer workshops and retail. They specialise in plants, florals, and botanically-focused gifts. The store itself is a feast for the senses – we’re only sorry it’s not a permanent fixture!
Hollow Tree Candles
We just LOVE Hollow Tree Candles – they’re one of our favorite ways of supporting local in Whistler. Their manifesto is rooted in a love for BC’s wilderness and about sharing the love, and the magic of the Pacific West Coast’s impossible fairytale forests, with you. They make Candles with premium coconut wax and hand-pour them in their Whistler studio. Our favorite right now is Log & Hearth, but it honestly changes so often! Find them for sale in a number of spots around town, including 3 Singing Birds and 122 West.
Artography 27
Artist Stacey Bodnaruk draws inspiration from the mountains and ocean in her incredibly vibrant, one-of-a-kind pieces. Stacey’s creations become ethereal and instantly iconic. We have dotted several of her creations around Nita Lake Lodge, which may be viewed at any time. To place a query, we invite you to email our Guest Relations Manager, Samantha.
Re:creation Designs
Re:creation Designs just has to be in our Whistler Holiday Gift Guide! The design of their upcycled jewelry has sustainability in mind and is crafted right here in Whistler. We’re pleased to showcase some of these beautiful pieces at Nita Lake Lodge, and they may be viewed in the main lobby area. Alternatively, Re:creation Designs offer free delivery in Canada.
Gogglesoc
The perfect stocking filler, we honestly believe that everyone should have a Gogglesoc! These eco-friendly eyewear accessories have been invented in Whistler and are made out of recycled plastic bottles. They come in tons of great designs and help to protect your lenses! Gogglesoc even branched out into face masks this year, and sunglass carriers, too. Use their store locator to see them in person, or shop the collection online.
