We asked some of Team Nita to share what they would consider the best takeout in Whistler.
Dining in Whistler was once about the in-person experience. Our incredible culinary artists created lavish feasts and seasonal features, which could be enjoyed alongside classic mountain hospitality and relaxing ambiance. But COVID-19 has forced many of Whistler’s eateries to (buzz word alert!) PIVOT. In doing so, Whistler has seen a huge shift of resources now going into the takeout experience.
What Makes It The Best Takeout In Whistler?
We’ve considered a number of factors from quality and variety of dishes, to the customer experience and ease of ordering. If you’d like to see any details updated, or have a worthy addition to the list, we’d love to hear from you! Please share your thoughts in the comments at the end, or reach out on Twitter.
Since April 2020, there’s not been a single week where we haven’t lusted for Functional Pie. This pizza place has quickly become a locals’ favorite and was even voted Best Pizza In Whistler in the 2020 Best Of Whistler Awards. You can order by the slice or choose the whole pie. ‘NYC Pepperoni’ is a classic but it’s the ‘Train Wreck’ that really tickles our tastebuds. There’s lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, too, making this the perfect dinner option for most.
We couldn’t talk about the best takeout in Whistler and not mention Cure Lounge! It’s home to lots of delicious dishes including Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Vegan Bolognaise, and the ever-popular Cure Burger. It’s easy to order over the phone and you can expect a genuinely warm welcome. Why not have a drink in the Lounge while you wait? Cure is currently open daily from 11:30 am – 10:00 pm.
Less Coronavirus and more Corona. Enjoy a taste of Mexico with the vibrant menu at La Cantina. Founder Pepe Barajas introduced the authentic taste of Mexican street food to Whistler and locals have been hankering after it ever since. Expect favourites such as burritos and quesadillas, as well as Taco Tuesday each week. We’re blessed with two locations in Whistler – Whistler Village and Nesters Road. Frankly, we’d call that essential travel.
According to Tripadvisor, the best takeout in Whistler is local bakery, Purebread. Great if you’re looking for dessert (it’s our fave spot for a sugar fix), however not-so-great if it’s a hearty meal you’re after. Our attention therefore goes to #2 on the list – Peaked Pies. Peaked Pies is something of a mecca for local Aussies and Brits in search of a fantastic, homemade pie. Chunky Pepper Steak is our go-to with Mentil Lentil a close second. Make sure you “Get Peaked” (add mash, mushy peas and gravy!)
Currently open for dine-in, take-out & groceries, Pasta Lupino in Whistler is your go-to for carb-loaded, Italian goodness. When we think of the best takeout in Whistler, Pasta Lupino rates highly – especially after a day on the mountain! From the takeout menu, we’re always drawn to their homemade, classic lasagne, which is available with or without meat. If we’re feeling motivated, it’s homemade linguine and half a dozen meatballs, which come with easy cooking instructions. Add their Plum Tomato and Basil Sauce and you’re onto a winner.
