Where To See The Man In Red
There are several opportunities to see Santa Around Whistler. One of his regular hangouts is the Gingerbread House in Whistler Creekside. It’s a great spot not only to get a photo with Mr. Claus, but also to grab a few last-minute gifts and a coffee. The main reason that I visit the Gingerbread House is to take advantage of their gift-wrapping service – it’s a god-send for my busy festive schedule! – Kathryn, Events.
The Ultimate Holiday Experience In Whistler – Snowy Lakeside Après
I love to après at Cure Lounge in Whistler Creekside. It’s right on Nita Lake and the offers are great. I go for the $7 Hot Toddy but they also have $7 mulled wine to get you in the festive mood. The patio itself is perfect – firepits and blankets keep you warm and cozy while you watch the snowfall on the lake from the shelter of the seating area. The Canadian dream! – Blythe, Spa.

The Ultimate Holiday Experience In Whistler – Ice Skating At Whistler Olympic Plaza
For many, ice skating in a winter wonderland is the ultimate holiday experience in Whistler. Whistler Olympic Plaza is home to an ice rink, which is free admission. All you have to pay for is skate rental (if necessary). The rink is great for families, too, with skating supports for little legs taking to the ice for the first time. – Amy, Food & Beverage

The Ultimate Holiday Experience In Whistler – Dress Like Santa Day
December 20th is ‘Dress Like Santa Day’ on the mountain. Free entry will be awarded for the first 100 people to arrive at the Garibaldi Lift Company, at the base of Whistler Mountain, in full Santa or Mrs. Claus attire! For me, this is the ultimate holiday experience in Whistler – it’s an incredible sight to behold. Remember to take your camera! – Simon, Marketing

Whistler Blackcomb’s Legendary Fire & Ice Show
The Fire & Ice Show is a huge crowd-pleaser, and I would say the thing most inquired about by our guests. It takes place every Sunday in Skier’s Plaza with the warm-up from 6:30 pm and the main event at 7:00 pm. Expect some awesome snow stunts, fire dancers and fireworks. Oh, and did I mention that it’s free! – Michelle, Fix Café

The Ultimate Holiday Experience In Whistler – Made in Whistler Winter Artisan Market
If you’re still on the lookout for some great, last-minute gifts, be sure to check out the Made In Whistler Winter Artisan Market at the Westin Resort & Spa. Open from 12:00 – 5:00 pm on December 22nd, it’s full of local crafts and artisanal goods. For me, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a bit of Christmas cheer. Be sure to check out The Firerock Lounge afterward for a cheeky Baileys! – Holly, Food & Beverage

The Ultimate Holiday Experience In Whistler – Ugly Christmas Sweater Dash
On December 23rd, I’ll be joining We Run Whistler at Fitzsimmons Pub for their annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Dash. It starts at 5:55 pm and ugly sweaters, festive costumes are very much encouraged! Then we enjoy drinks specials at the Fitzsimmons Pub. A head’s up, headlamps are mandatory for winter runs so make sure you’re prepared. I got my headlamp from The Escape Route in Whistler Marketplace. – David, Maintenance

The Ultimate Holiday Experience In Whistler – Christmas Eve Church Service
My family and I have an annual tradition and like to take part in the Christmas Eve church service at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. It takes place in the Macdonald Ballroom from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, and then we have a drink beside the fire in the Mallard Lounge. Fairmont Chateau Whistler is decked out in the most incredible holiday décor and it really adds to the festive cheer already abundant in Whistler. – Joy, Housekeeping
