Illuminate The Senses
‘Vallea Lumina is a “multimedia night walk in pursuit of hidden wonders,” which will take you on a 1.5km walk through a lit up forest’ reports Kamloops BC Now.
The experience uses video, lighting, sound and special effects. Vallea Lumina promises to lead visitors on a cryptic excursion toward a place filled with beauty, and proof that the legends of Whistler are true.
The experience costs just $29 and typically takes an hour to 90 minutes. Whilst this is the first experience of its kind in Whistler, the company behind the project have seen huge success in Québec.
Pedal To The Metal
North America’s largest GranFondo comes to the Sea-To-Sky corridor on September 8th.
It is expected that 4,500 cyclists will take part in the 122km ride from Vancouver to Whistler. Gran Fondo means ‘big ride’ in Italian, explains RBC GranFondo. They are mass participation cycling events that have enjoyed a huge amount of popularity in Europe for decades. As a result, they are now increasingly spreading around the world.
Tourism Whistler writes: ‘Stay for the fun at the finish line celebrations and family events with great deals on accommodation and full passenger and bike transportation back to Vancouver’.
The Sound Of Music
‘Whistler Presents’ is a free, outdoor concert series begins July 13th and welcomes an exciting line up of Canadian and international artists to Whistler. Whistler Olympic Plaza presents the eight week program, which promises to be very popular.
“Listening to live music with the mountains as a backdrop is a really special and unique experience.” said Whistler Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden to Daily Hive.
Concerts coincide nicely with other events happening locally including yoga festival, Wanderlust Whistler and the RBC GranFondo.
Next Level Sophistication
Whistler is home to four championship golf courses, hence it’s no surprise really that golfers love to visit.
